Brain Bee Omni 800 calibration, servicing and repair support
Updated: Oct 11
Brain Bee Omni 800 emissions equipment is available in more than one workshop configuration. The cabinet-based Omni 800, Omni 800 Blue and Omni 800 Modular do not present exactly the same identification, computer or communication arrangements, so a useful service enquiry must name the actual system and its component units.
TPGE handles calibration, servicing and repair enquiries for Brain Bee emissions equipment subject to the exact model, configuration and workshop postcode. This guide sets out the information needed before our engineers confirm coverage, price and visit arrangements.
Identify your Omni 800 system
The Brain Bee Omni 800 listing describes a cabinet-based package with an AGS-200 gas analyser, OPA-100 smoke meter and MGT-300EVO RPM and temperature module. The Omni 800 Blue uses a separate mobile gas-and-smoke trolley with Bluetooth communication to the main cabinet. The Omni 800 Modular is a mobile gas-and-smoke trolley intended to run through a compatible roller brake tester computer and software.
Record the product name and the identification and serial numbers from the gas analyser and smoke meter. Include the cabinet, computer or communication module details when they are relevant to the reported problem. Photographs of the labels help distinguish the package name from the measuring units inside it.
Calibration for the AGS-200 and OPA-100 units
For the listed cabinet-based Omni 800 package, identify the AGS-200 gas analyser and OPA-100 smoke meter separately. State whether one unit or both require calibration, and send the latest certificate or due date for each. Other configurations must be identified from their own labels rather than assumed to use the same component arrangement.
TPGE confirms the applicable procedure, technician arrangements and model coverage before booking. Calibration is a defined measurement task. It does not automatically include servicing, consumables, software work or repair of a fault.
To coordinate emissions and other MOT instruments, use the managed MOT equipment calibration service and list each instrument against its own date.
Describe the fault and communication path
Provide the exact error message and say whether the problem concerns petrol gas analysis, diesel smoke measurement, the computer, software, Bluetooth communication or another connection between units. Explain when the problem occurs and whether it is permanent or intermittent.
For Blue or Modular equipment, identify the trolley and the computer or cabinet it communicates with. If the system has been moved, a computer has been replaced or software has changed, include that history. Do not remove covers or attempt electrical work simply to improve the fault description.
Servicing, filters and accessories
Filters, hoses, probes, batteries, communication modules and other accessories must be checked against the exact Omni 800 configuration and component reference. Send the existing part number and equipment serial number where available. A general Omni 800 description does not prove that an accessory suits every version.
Servicing and repair are quoted separately from calibration. The proposed work should identify what can be planned before a visit, which parts are confirmed and whether further investigation may be required after inspection. Equipment purchase prices shown on product pages do not include a service visit unless the quotation says they do.
Repair, software or replacement
A measurement fault, a computer problem and a communication problem can require different investigation. Separate the symptoms in the enquiry so the engineer can decide what information, access and equipment may be needed. Replacement is considered separately from repair and depends on the current configuration, fault, parts availability and workshop requirements.
For a replacement enquiry, provide photographs of the current installation, available space and any connection to a brake tester computer. TPGE confirms the supplied UK configuration, software, MOT connectivity, compatibility, warranty and installation work in the quotation.
Prepare your Brain Bee service enquiry
Include the company and contact details, workshop postcode, Omni 800 version, component serial numbers, current calibration certificates or due dates, photographs and a clear description of the work required. For several workshop locations, list each system and due date separately.
Use the gas analyser and smoke meter calibration and repair checklist for a general preparation list, or send TPGE the equipment details for a quotation. Call 01924 266355 if you need help identifying the relevant labels.
